Amateur MMA fighter Amir Sadollah (0-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who recently qualified for the International Fight League’s 2008 draft pool, has likely been chosen as a cast member for “The Ultimate Fighter 7.“

Over the weekend, a source close to the fighter told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the fighter recently left for Las Vegas to tape the show.

“The Ultimate Fighter 7,” which debuts April 2 on Spike TV, features UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson and season-one winner Forrest Griffin as coaches. Sixteen middleweight fighters vie for a UFC contract in a tournament-style competition.

According to the FC Fighter database, Sadollah has fought four amateur fights for the Virginian-based Combat Sports Challenge organization, which is part of the Combat Sports League. Sadollah is 4-0 with two submission victories, a knockout, and a decision win.

So how did he end up on the show, which usually features professional fighters?

The 27-year-old surgical technician and amateur kickboxer was featured in a recent ESPN.com piece about the open tryouts for “The Ultimate Fighter 7.” He was painted to be the class clown of the group.

“Let the record show I will be whatever they want,” he joked with ESPN.com. “Not really. I don’t want to change who I am for a show. If you have to be a little louder, a little goofier, that’s one thing. But like they told us: be who you are.“

Back in October Sadollah traveled to Chicago, one of three cities that hosted open tryouts for the IFL draft. Approximately 250 aspiring fighters showed up, and Sadollah was one of only 52 who made the cut at the Chicago location. Instead of a possible IFL appointment, though, Sadollah appears headed to “The Ultimate Fighter 7.“

Sadollah joins a growing list of other cast members that MMAjunkie.com has recently revealed. The full list now includes:

When and why did you start training for fighting?  I started training about five years ago, but never competed until I had been training for well over a year. I don't have the wrestling/boxing/athletic background that a lot of fighters do, so I had to kinda build it all up from scratch. I don't believe in jumping into something before you're ready.

What titles have you held?
The Ultimate Fighter season seven winner. I've held amateur titles, WKA east coast MMA at 185 and 205. WKA National Muay Thai at 189

Do you have any heroes?
Heroes are all around us. My parents, family, training partners, other fighters, and anyone who selflessly does good for others. And Oprah.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC?
Everything. Not for money or fame, but because to me it represents the highest level of achievement in our sport, and to be competitive and successful in this organization is every fighter's dream.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn?
I have a degree in Surgical Technology from J. Sargeant Reynolds

What was your job before you started fighting?
  Surgical tech

Ranks in any martial arts styles:
MMA and Muay Thai don't have any formal belting systems, just an informal list of people you should and shouldn't fight.  I have a black belt in Sambo, but it's not as recognized as being belted in BJJ. Which by the way, I am a white belt in.

Favorite grappling technique:
Anything unconventional and hard to pull off in an MMA fight. Leglocks, armbars and triangles from weird angles, and the Boston Crab. If I ever get that on someone, I'll retire.

Favorite Striking technique:
Well hmmmm, they're all so deliciously painful. I guess I like knees and kicks, and since I'm recently allowed to throw them as a pro, I'm beginning to become a fan of elbows
